For patients aged 65 and older without 17p chromosome deletion and treatment-naive chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, an international multi-institution 1:1 randomized controlled study compared Ibrutinib monotherapy versus Chlorambucil (Leukeran). This trial evaluated whether Ibrutinib could provide superior progression-free survival compared to the standard chlorambucil treatment in this elderly patient population.
