- How is the Medical Supporter fee calculated?
- Medical fees are remitted directly to the hospital, which issues the invoice in Japan. Medical Supporter adds a coordination service fee on top of the actual medical cost. Actual treatment fees depend on each hospital's quote; a full estimate is provided before signing.
- What does the coordination service fee include?
- Medical record consolidation and bilingual translation, remote Second Opinion arrangement with Japanese physicians, clinic and inpatient scheduling, 24-hour contact line, language summary of exam results, and post-return follow-up coordinated with your local doctor.
- Are there any extra or hidden fees?
- A full quote is provided before signing. Personal expenses such as flights, accommodation, meals, visa, and insurance are paid by the patient; the coordinator can book them on your behalf and itemise actual costs. Page amounts are references only. Medical or third-party costs may change with actual needs; changes and charges require separate written confirmation.
Transparent Coordination Service Fee Model
Medical institution fees are paid directly to the institution unless otherwise agreed in writing. Medical Supporter’s coordination fee is 20% of actual medical institution fees, covering record organization, translation, appointments, itinerary support, and administrative coordination.

We help organize communication among patients, families, medical institutions, interpreters, and local support contacts. Hospital fees, examinations, medications, treatment plans, and third-party costs may change based on the institution’s final decision.

Transparent pricing principles
- Medical fees follow the institution’s billing and are normally paid directly to it unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- 20% service fee is applied only to the core medical fee (not add-ons).
- FX rates are indicative; final settlement uses the day's wire-transfer rate.
- Accommodation, flights and visa fees can be quoted separately (not included in the 20% service fee).
- Estimate excludes Japan consumption tax (10%) and overseas wire-transfer fees.
