On December 13, 2019, Roche announced the "Efficacy and Safety Results from the IMspire150 Phase 3 Clinical Trial of the Anti-PD-L1 Antibody Tecentriq + MEK Inhibitor Cotellic + BRAF Inhibitor Zelboraf in Previously Untreated, BRAF V600 Mutation-Positive Melanoma Patients."
The IMspire150 trial was a multi-center, double-blind, controlled Phase 3 clinical trial that enrolled previously untreated, BRAF V600 mutation-positive melanoma patients divided into the following two groups. The primary endpoint was investigator-assessed progression-free survival, with secondary endpoints of overall survival, duration of response, and objective response rate.
Tecentriq group (Tecentriq + Cotellic + Zelboraf)
Placebo group (placebo + Cotellic + Zelboraf)
The results of this trial showed that the primary endpoint of investigator-assessed progression-free survival was clinically meaningful in the Tecentriq group. Regarding safety, the adverse events observed in the Tecentriq group were consistent with the safety profiles confirmed in current clinical trials, with no new adverse events identified.
Based on the results of the IMspire150 clinical trial, Levi Garraway concluded: In previously untreated, BRAF V600 mutation-positive melanoma patients, the anti-PD-L1 antibody Tecentriq + MEK inhibitor Cotellic + BRAF inhibitor Zelboraf is expected to become a new treatment option for patients.
