Current Opdivo costs vary by body weight, but in Japan average approximately 3 million yen per month. Due to Japan's high-cost medical expense subsidy system, patients typically pay around 100,000 yen, then 45,000 yen from the fourth month onward. However, the current issue is the hospital's maximum reimbursement ceiling. They proposed reducing hospital losses and providing more complete information to patients.

When Iressa first came to market, its risk of interstitial pneumonia side effects wasn't yet known, resulting in over 800 patient deaths. The Japan Lung Cancer Society emphasizes that medical professionals should carefully evaluate whether Opdivo is appropriate for each patient and stay informed about subsidy updates.
