Some drugs that are already FDA-approved in Japan have not yet been approved for use in Taiwan. Foreign patients still need to visit a physician for consultation and obtain a prescription before receiving medication. Some patients make a trip to Japan to see a doctor and get their medication. While drug pricing information is available online, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare recently announced new pharmaceutical pricing policies effective from April 1, 2016. Cancer drug prices have been adjusted, and interested parties can refer to the link below to search for current information.
