Atezolizumab Phase 3 Clinical Trial Information (IMmotion151)

This clinical trial compares the combination of Atezolizumab + Bevacizumab (Avastin) therapy against Sunitinib monotherapy in patients with inoperable metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

Atezolizumab is an anti-PD-L1 antibody that works by inhibiting the PD-L1 protein, thereby reactivating T-cells to attack cancer cells.

Trial Overview

• Period: August 2015 – October 2019
• Locations: Taiwan, USA, Thailand, Japan, and other regions.
• Target Enrollment: 550 patients

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

1. Age 18 or older.
2. Inoperable, locally advanced, or metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
3. No prior systemic chemotherapy for metastatic disease.
4. Karnofsky Performance Status (PS) of 70% or higher.

Exclusion Criteria:

1. Metastasis to the central nervous system (CNS).
2. Uncontrolled pleural effusion, ascites, hypercalcemia, or pericardial effusion.
3. Other conditions as specified in the full protocol.
