Sharing a recent update from treatment cases we have been assisting with, specifically regarding the import handling of PD-1 inhibitors. As previously mentioned, each treatment course costs approximately 1 million yen (this varies depending on patient weight and exchange rate fluctuations). Starting this month, there have been significant changes to Opdivo's pricing, which we are sharing for reference.
Currently, importing this drug into Japan takes approximately three weeks. Since this data is provided by importers, only a partial price reference is available — actual prices may vary slightly. The current price for 100mg is approximately 380,000 yen, and this does not yet include handling fees, drug inspection, physician certification fees, etc. For detailed costs, please confirm with the hospital's medical cost estimate after your consultation.
For reference, here is summarized dosing information from the official Opdivo prescribing information for malignant melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer patients:
- For patients with unresectable or metastatic malignant melanoma: dose is based on body weight (2mg/kg), administered once every three weeks.
- For patients with unresectable or advanced non-small cell lung cancer: dose is based on body weight (3mg/kg), administered once every two weeks.
