Located near the Imperial Hotel in central Tokyo, RISO Clinic is approximately 40 minutes from Haneda Airport by subway. With many daily direct flights from Taiwan, getting there is very convenient. Due to the clinic's renowned physicians and its proprietary technology for producing fusion cells, the clinic attracts many patients from both Japan and abroad — resulting in longer waiting times for appointments. Interested patients are strongly encouraged to contact us well in advance.

RISO uses a dendritic cell vaccine within their immune cell therapy program, which they call the New Fusion Dendritic Cell Vaccine. In simple terms, white blood cells make up about 1% of blood volume, and dendritic cells account for only 0.2% of that. Therefore, culturing dendritic cells requires significantly higher technical skill and more time compared to lymphocyte culture or multi-peptide vaccine preparation. The cultivation process at RISO takes approximately one to one and a half months.

The clinic offers two vaccine production methods:

  1. Culturing autologous living cancer cells together with dendritic cells.
  2. Collecting epidermal tissue from the patient and culturing fusion cells at the Cell Therapy Technology Research Institute.

For supplying autologous tumor material, there are four options:

① Providing stored tissue specimens from the hospital (only the required amount is used; the remainder will be returned later)

② Standard testing is typically done from tissue samples under option ①; please provide 10 unstained glass slides (if the tissue specimen is found to be insufficient, additional preparation assistance is requested)

③ Tumor tissue removed during examination or surgery is placed in a container with culture medium and refrigerated (please apply in advance; RISO Clinic will provide the container)

④ Ascites or pleural fluid collected in a sterile container and refrigerated (please apply in advance; RISO Clinic will provide the container)

Please note that after the initial consultation, the physician will determine whether material can be obtained from other sites or whether the patient needs to provide tumor cells.

Regarding slice thickness: the required thickness is 6 μm. If you have any questions about this therapy, feel free to contact us.
